Restricted Doomsday Syndrome Chapter 29: Spindle

The cave where Mandela escaped was roughly circular, and I didn’t think it was too big when I looked down from above. We didn’t realize that it was three meters in diameter until we actually stood in front of it. The structure of the stone wall in the cave is not neat, but the surface is very smooth, as if it has been specially polished, but the priest said it was corroded.

The cave is as deep as expected. From the perspective, it leads to the other side of the corridor, so we got the opposite result when we tossed a coin. Maybe we can directly find Mandela’s lair. Because Mandela stays here and hunts casually, we don't need to fight it.

Now that the injured Mandela is full of resentment, hiding in the depths of the cave, no one knows whether it is returning to the lair to lick the wound or hiding in the dark as a dangerous sneak attacker. Its size is very large, and its speed is not slow. Once we are in the cave, we don't know how many chances we will be able to escape.

"Let's change the direction." Cui Di also said nervously.

"No one can be sure where this cave leads to." Fu Jiang retorted. She looked eager to try, as if she didn't pay attention to the possible sneak attacks of monsters.

She asked my affirmation with her eyes, but I turned my head to the priest. The priest is the oldest Mageweave messenger in our group, and the information in his hands is bound to give better advice.

"The nodes are not fixed. Sometimes they appear in places that are easy to find, and sometimes they are accompanied by danger. Our luck is not very good. Ms. Fujiang is right, we have to go on."

"I have a question, how do you know that the node is in this place?" Fu Jiang raised this question suddenly, her eyes full of suspicion, wandering between the priest and Cui Di, as if she could see through their minds.

I’ve long wanted to know this question, but I’m not sure if it’s the right time to ask, and even if I ask, I don’t think the priest will answer it.

Tridi turned out to look at the priest with a look of probing. It turned out that she didn't know the truth. What happened when they formed the team?

"Have you never asked?" I said.

"No...I thought someone else asked." Tritty said hesitantly.

"Who was the captain at the time?"

Tridi shook her head in confusion.

"No, there is no captain, we just get together like this, and then at the priest..." Then, she looked at the priest with a strange look: "I came in at the priest's suggestion. You said there is a letting in here. No one of us had any doubts about the way we went back!"

Father opened his hands innocently.

   "I didn't lie, I did."

"I didn't mean this..." Cui Di was very dissatisfied with his evasive response, but Fu Jiang interrupted him just halfway through the conversation.

"Father, answer my question, how do you know where the node is?"

"If I can see you here again, I will answer." The priest smiled without any shy: "Now, you can only choose to believe or not to believe."

Tomoe stared into the priest's eyes with a playful expression. She must have mastered something by psychological means.

"I believe you." Tomoe said without a doubt: "I will be back."

"Goodbye? Come back? What do you mean?" Cui Di asked blankly, looking back and forth on the faces of the three of us.

So I explained to her the conclusion that "Once you leave the doomsday illusion, you will lose all the memories in the illusion". I easily took out the diary, and before entering the cave, quickly recorded the information confirmed by the priest so far, and distributed the food that I brought to everyone.

After eating high-calorie food outside the cave, we entered the cave without objection. Fu Jiang still took the lead, and the priest broke off. I followed Fu Jiang as a cover. Tritty walked in the third place in a daze, as if she hadn't recovered from the impact of intelligence.

This long cave has no underground water passages, no stalactites and other landscapes, and it looks slightly dry. After walking zigzag for a while, the light fell to a low point that the human eye could not perceive at all. Only the light of the flashlight could bring some sense of security.

Although he has been in fear, he was not attacked by any sneaky attacks.

When the light appeared at the end, I thought it was an illusion caused by staying in the dark for too long. But the light did not disappear, and continued to magnify as it progressed.

followed by a fishy smell that gradually became stronger.

Some are like excrement, and some are like the smell of human leftovers in a room used as a kitchen by ghost dogs.

When the smell penetrated my nostrils, I didn't have the slightest doubt, the trouble was ahead.

There was a sudden violent vibration behind me. Accompanied by the sound of a rock collapsing, the rushing smoke and dust kept rushing out for a long time, surrounding us for a long time.

The back road was cut off.

It’s been waiting for too long, and it is here to make a conclusion.

The light from the exit is green, and it is fluorescence from an unknown glowing moss.

There is a hall showing a grotesque sci-fi style. The two ends of the spindle-shaped body as the central pillar, the floor and the zenith merge into one, as if it were cast directly from a mold. All the materials that make up the hall are a kind of material with metallic luster but non-metallic texture and a touch of flesh and blood.

is very clean, but the **** smell comes from it.

There is a metal plate in the middle of the spindle facing us, with square-shaped words etched on it, and no one can read it.

Including the spindle, the surface of all materials is engraved with many complicated patterns similar to circuit board wiring, including the ceiling, four walls and the floor to form a grand mystery.

The trail of countless streamers passing through the lines, flickering and appearing like an electronic cloud, spread in all directions.

This is obviously not a den of monsters, but more like the remains of some kind of facility.

Father looked at the structure of the hall and the text on the metal plate on the spindle, and then he took his gaze back until he reached a certain conclusion.

"What is written there?" I asked.

   "Domination Bureau."

   "Domination Bureau? What is that?"

The priest didn't answer, as if he hadn't heard him, he thought about it.

"What the **** is this place?" Tritty asked aloud.

"I don't know." The priest said: "But the node is here~where is IndoMTL.com~?"

I also feel that the magic pattern brings an indescribable feeling to the body, like being attracted by a magnet hidden somewhere in the air.

The node is here, I can feel it, but I can't find it with the five senses.

"Invisible but existing, very special circumstances, it should have been disturbed." The priest said confidently.

"What should I do next? How can I go back?" Cui Di asked.

"I am more concerned about where Mandela has gone." Fu Jiang said, carefully walking around.

Father took me to a device that looked like a console under the spindle. Data is constantly being generated on the dome-shaped display screen. It seems to me that these data are no different from computer garbled codes, and the priest also has a confused expression on his face. In addition, there are some levers and buttons, no one knows how to use them.

At this moment, Tomoe cried from behind the spindle.

   "I found Mandela."

When the priest and I ran over, we only saw Cui Di staring at the top of the spindle with a dull expression. It was a glass-like transparent shell that was completely different from the front view, through which you could see the inside of the spindle. It was filled with pale yellow liquid, and the monster Mandela was floating in it, densely packed with mechanical non-metallic tentacles sticking to it.

Mandela is motionless like a biological specimen, his body decomposes at a speed visible to the naked eye.

How did it get into the spindle? What did those tentacles do to it?

The strange breath continued to diffuse from the spindle.

The only certainty is that this huge, seemingly unsupervised facility is operating on its own and has interfered with the emergence of nodes.

"It must be stopped." I said to everyone.
