Hogwarts Outsider Chapter 85: Hogwarts in chaos
Matthew Wakefield didn't know that his two friends were facing such a crisis at this moment.
He couldn't think of this at all.
Because from his perspective, Hermione and Neville should have returned to their respective common rooms after having lunch in the auditorium.
The afternoon class is Defense Against the Dark Arts.
Matthew came to the classroom with the rest of the first-year Slytherin students.
The Defense Against the Dark Arts class was taken together by Slytherin and Ravenclaw House; but among the group of Ravenclaw students, Matthew did not see Hermione Granger.
Is she late?
This is not often seen in the past.
Thinking to himself, Matthew opened his "Dark Magic: Self-Defense Guide" and flipped through it boredly.
Minutes and seconds passed.
Class time has already started for several minutes.
However, Professor Rozier, the vice-principal, has not appeared in class for a long time.
This is an extremely rare situation.
Is something going to happen?
Matthew was keenly aware of it.
……
They didn't have to wait too long, about five minutes later——
The administrator, Mr. Pringle, suddenly broke into the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom.
He shouted loudly: "Professor Rozier's class is canceled today, everyone stays in the classroom and does not move around; your dean will come to pick you up and return to your respective common rooms!"
"What's going on?" Draco Malfoy stood up and asked loudly.
"This is not what you need to care about." Mr. Pringle glared at Malfoy: "Whoever dares to recklessly appear in other parts of the castle will be responsible for any consequences."
"What consequences?" Padma Patil of Ravenclaw asked curiously.
Mr. Pringle smiled coldly at her: "Missing, injured, or dead..."
As soon as he finished speaking, he strode out of the classroom, and the golden retriever followed behind him.
Following the departure of Mr. Pringle, the entire classroom fell into chaos.
"What's the situation!" Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle gathered beside Matthew, discussing eagerly.
"It seems that a Hufflepuff student was attacked in the morning?" Nott calmly analyzed: "Could it be related to that incident?"
"But then they should contact us in the morning!" Malfoy was not convinced by this reason.
"Matthew." Gore looked at Matthew: "What do you think?"
"Perhaps..." Matthew hesitated for a moment before replying, "What happened after the Hufflepuff student in the morning?"
After taking another look at the group of girls in Ravenclaw, and still not seeing Hermione Granger, Matthew suddenly thought of a very bad situation.
And Matthew's words instantly caused a burst of panic among the boys.
If there were two attacks on Hogwarts in one day; then they also had to start thinking about their own situation.
"I'm so stupid, I was really wrong!" Malfoy said regretfully:
"My father originally wanted to send me to the Durmstrang School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but I heard that Hogwarts is the best school of magic and wizardry in the world, so I insisted on coming here... If I didn't If I came to Hogwarts, I wouldn’t be attacked by a black magic item, and I would stay in the school hospital for several months... If I hadn’t come to Hogwarts, I wouldn’t have encountered these bad things..."
"Okay, Draco." Matthew signaled Malfoy to stop talking.
Because Professor Flitwick, the head of Ravenclaw, and Professor Slughorn, the head of Slytherin, have already rushed here.
……
"Children, come with me!" Slughorn, who was always smiling, now has a serious expression on his face: "I will take you back to the common room."
A dozen or so first-year Slytherins lined up in two files, right behind their headmaster.
"Hogwarts has not been peaceful recently!" Slughorn sighed: "Remember, you are strictly forbidden to leave the Slytherin common room today and the following weekend."
"What?"
"Are we going to stay in the common room for two and a half days?"
"Then what about eating."
"Exactly, Mr. Crabbe." Slughorn replied, he glanced first at Crabbe, then at Greengrass: "And Miss Greengrass, don't worry about dinner. Worry, the house elves will send food to your dormitory.”
"What happened, Professor?" Malfoy asked puzzled.
"Draco, I'm afraid I can't tell you about this..." Slughorn spread his hands.
He stopped answering everyone's questions and just led them towards the Slytherin common room.
At the same time, he looked around vigilantly from time to time, especially when passing through those gloomy forks in the corridor.
All the way without words.
……
They arrived at the stone door of the Slytherin common room without incident.
The first-year students walked in one after another, but Matthew Wakefield stayed alone at the end of the line.
Until only he and Slughorn were left outside the door.
"Professor Slughorn." Matthew asked softly: "What happened, can you tell me...I swear, I will never tell anyone else!"
"Okay, Matthew...if I'm only telling you one person..." Slughorn sighed and lowered his voice at the same time:
"The school hospital has been attacked, and it's in a mess, with blood everywhere... Madam Pomfrey was knocked out~IndoMTL.com~ She shouldn't be awake now... Also..."
Slughorn seemed to hesitate for a moment.
"Any other victims?" Matthew asked with a solemn expression.
"Yes, two first-year children...Neville Longbottom and Hermione Granger." Slughorn sighed, "They are all missing...Professor Rosier, just now Lead people to search for them throughout the school..."
Matthew couldn't help but sink. It seemed that he really guessed the worst.
He took a deep breath, and then continued to ask:
"By the way, professor, you said that we are forbidden to leave the Slytherin common room these few days..."
"...That's right, Matthew." Slughorn smiled: "I know this must not be hidden from you, I changed the password of Shimen, and it also prohibits attempts to leave the common room. Take effect... none of you know the password, so you can't leave the common room."
"But, professor." Matthew said seriously: "Did you forget that there was an accident in the common room before... If there is any trouble here these days, we will not be able to leave... There's nothing worse than that!"
"You're right, Matthew," said Slughorn thoughtfully, and he nodded.
"You should at least tell the prefects the password." Matthew suggested.
"You can bring them a message for me, I have to participate in the search for Longbottom and Granger." Slughorn agreed: "Remember, don't let anyone other than the prefect know Password..."
"Of course!" Matthew nodded without thinking.
"The new password is—" Horace Slughorn lowered his voice:
"Merlin!"
