Harry Potter: Dark Alchemy Chapter 63: The death of Rupert

On the penultimate day of the Christmas holiday, the weather outside was very bad, and the wind was engulfing the snow, and it was so cold that it made people tremble.

Just as Wright walked out of the dormitory and, as always, came to the long table in the hall for breakfast, he suddenly received a letter from Hagrid.

The crumpled parchment letter was covered with messy and scribbled writing, and there were lumps of pitch black ink stains on the paper, which made the content of this letter illegible.

  Dear Wright:

Rupert died last night. Wright, when you gave me that little dragon egg, I thought Rupert would stay with me like a tooth for the rest of my life... You know what Rupert means to me. . If you can come to the funeral at noon today, it means a lot to me, it is its favorite time of the day. I didn't want to make this request, but I couldn't face it alone.

right put down the spoon in his hand, rolled the parchment letter into a roll and stuffed it into Mock’s bag. He didn't go to the responsive room on the eighth floor as before, but was going to go to Hagrid's cabin to comfort the big man with a rough surface and a fragile heart.

Wright still remembered that he and Rupert had met several times with Hagrid last month. Although Rupert had a loss of appetite and shaky appearance at that time, he did not expect it to be just after the New Year. It didn't take long before it passed away.

Wright braved the snow, speeding up his pace and walking towards Hagrid's wooden house.

  ……

"Wright, you're here." Hagrid walked to the door and opened it, and said in a hoarse voice.

"Hagrid--I'm sorry to hear that." Wright stepped forward outside the door and hugged Hagrid's belly.

Hagrid sobbed loudly. He looked unkempt and his eyes were red and swollen from crying.

"Where did you put Rupert's body now? And where are you going to bury it later?" Wright asked, his voice coming from Hagrid's stomach, sounding somewhat Boring.

"I'm going to bury it next to my hut," Hagrid gently pushed Wright away, then wiped the tears from the corners of his eyes with his sleeve. "It can't be buried in the woods, there will be some animals. Its body is dug out and eaten; it cannot be buried by the lake, Rupert has never liked it..."

As he talked, Hagrid's voice became lower and lower, and then he sobbed again.

Wright patted his forearm and said, "Hagrid, let's dig a burial hole for it now."

"I have dug up its—the grave, but I think we should wait for noon—" Hagrid choked, "Wright, come in and sit for a while—"

Hagrid’s voice was interrupted, and while blowing his nose with a large handkerchief, he led Wright into the wooden house.

After Wright walked in, he discovered that there were already two people sitting in the wooden house, Harry and Ron. The two of them were sitting around the big table in the room. Rupert's corpse was placed on a rough white linen on the table. The flame on its tail would never go out at this time. It's gone, just lying on the table coldly and motionless.

The expression on Ron's face was similar to Hagrid's. Among the many students who knew Hagrid, Ron and Rupert had the deepest feelings. Ever since he discovered that Hagrid had this little fire dragon from Japan, Ron would always run to Hagrid's wooden house to visit Rupert.

Harry also had a sad expression, but the relationship between him and Rupert was much weaker than Ron.

The four people sat silently in the wooden house for a long time.

   until——

"Let's—let's get started..." Hagrid said in a trembling voice.

Wright walked out of the wooden house in the first place, and Harry followed closely behind. Hagrid picked up the linen cloth with Rupert on the table, and Ron walked outside with him. The four of them walked into the courtyard behind the wooden house together under the snow, where Hagrid dug Rupert's grave. In less than one morning, the cave was half full by blizzard.

Wright's wand slipped into his hand and cast a blazing flame against the hole. After a while, all the snow in the hole melted away. Then Wright cast another magic to dry all the moist soil in the cave.

"Thank you—thank you, Wright." Hagrid said intermittently, the beard on his face now covered with a lot of snowflakes.

Wright did not speak, but patted Hagrid on the arm comfortingly.

Hagrid half-kneeled and gently laid Rupert’s body on the ground. After carefully wrapping it in white linen, Hagrid gently pushed the linen, and the linen immediately took it with him Rupert slipped to the bottom of the pit together.

   Hagrid made another sob.

Wright waved his magic wand, and the mud that had been piled aside immediately rose up, and slowly poured into the pit as he moved. Wright didn't stop until a smooth mound was formed.

Then Wright transformed another smooth stone slab, which stood on top of the mound.

"Okay, Hagrid," Wright turned his wand back into a bracelet, and then said to Hagrid, "Let's go in now!"

Wright supported Hagrid, Harry supported Ron, and the four of them returned to the wooden house and sat down at the table. Yaya, who had been hiding in the corner of the room during the funeral, walked over quietly and curled up at Wright's feet.

"Wright, what should we do now?" Ha asked Wright with his mouth. Now Ron and Hagrid are depressed one by one, and I guess they will have to cry after a while.

"Wait a minute," Wright replied softly.

Wright stood up, scanned the room, and within a few moments he found the place where Hagrid usually puts the wine. Wright beckoned to the wine barrel, and the wine barrel quickly and silently floated over here.

opened the lid and smelled it, a strong butterbeer scent rushed into Wright’s nose~IndoMTL.com~ Wright poured the wine in the barrel into Hagrid’s bucket-sized cup, "Hagrid , Drink some wine to warm up your body first!"

turned into a small wooden wine glass. After pouring some wine into it, Wright handed the wooden glass to Ron: "Ron, you can come a little too."

Hagrid picked up the glass and poured it directly into his mouth, while Ron sipped it in small sips.

After the drinks in the two glasses were all empty, Wright cast a refilling spell on the two glasses, and the glasses were immediately full.

Hagrid muttered some unintelligible words, and drank the glass again. Ron also learned from Hagrid this time and drank all the Butterbeer in the glass. After drinking the last drop of the glass, Ron’s face was flushed with a strange flush. After a hiccup full of alcohol, Ron slumped on the table.

Hagrid drank glass by glass, while Wright refilled it again and again. It wasn't until two hours later that Hagrid shook his glass down, buried his head on the table, and started snoring loudly.

Wright beckoned to Harry, and the two quietly opened the door with Ron, who was still asleep. Coming from the warm wooden house to the cold outside, Ron, who was drowsy, woke up with a shock, and then he struggled to free himself from Harry's support.

At this time, the Blizzard outside had stopped. When the three returned to the castle together, they found that many students had returned to school early today.

For example, sitting at Ravenclaw's long table, smiling and looking at the three of them, Hermione and Chang Chu.
