Harry Potter’s Book of Sin Chapter 180: McLean being late
There is no Christmas refreshment today because there is a banquet at the dance party. At seven o'clock, the sky dimmed and it was not easy to aim at the target. The others gave up the snowball fight and returned to the common room together. The fat lady sat in the frame with her friend Violet downstairs. Both of them were dizzy and drunk. Several empty bonbon boxes were thrown at the bottom of her portrait.
"The bright light should be "the light of the fairyland." The fat lady was drunk and said the wrong password., that's right, that's it!" She listened to their password, giggled and turned away. Let them in.
Harry, Ron, Seamus, Dean, and Neville changed into their robes in the dormitory upstairs. They all looked awkward, but no one was as depressed as Ron. He was in the corner He looked at himself in front of his long mirror, with a frightened expression on his face. His robe is like a skirt, which is an unavoidable fact. In order to add a bit of masculinity to the robe, he desperately made a cutting spell on the folds and laces. It worked, at least the lace on the clothes was gone, but his work was not smooth. When a few boys set out to go downstairs, his neckline and cuffs were still fringed, which was really discouraging.
"I really don't understand how you two got the most beautiful girl of the year." Dean muttered. "The opposite **** attracts each other," Ron replied glumly, pulling the thread off the cuffs. The common room looks weird. The people in it are no longer in green and black robes, but in colorful robes. Parvati waited for Harry under the stairs. She looked very beautiful indeed, wearing a dazzling pink robe, her black hair braided with gold ribbons, and the gold bracelets on her wrists gleaming. Harry couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief when she saw that she didn't giggle.
"You-uh-very beautiful." He said unnaturally.
"Thank you," she said. "Padma met you in the hall," she said to Ron again.
"Okay," Ron said, looking around, "Where is Hermione?"
Parvati shrugged. "Let's go down, okay, Harry?"
"Okay," Harry said, wishing he could stay in the common room. Harry met Fred when he got out of the portrait hole, and Fred blinked at him mischievously.
The hall was also full of students, all spinning back and forth, waiting for the arrival of eight o'clock, then the door of the auditorium would open.
Some people want to meet their dancing partners from other academies, so they squeezed sideways in the crowd, looking for their counterparts. Parvati found her sister Padma and led her to see Harry and Ron.
"Hello." Padma said, she was as beautiful as her sister, wearing a bright green robe. However, she didn't seem to have any interest in Ron being her dance partner. Her dark eyes looked up and down Ron, her gaze rested on the raised collar and cuffs of his robe.
"Hello," Ron said, but instead of looking at her, he looked around in the crowd, "Oh, bad..."
He bent his knees slightly and hid behind Harry because Fleur Delacour was approaching. She wore a silver-gray satin robe, really stunning, accompanied by Ravenclaw College Quidditch team captain Roger Davis. When they were far away, Ron straightened up again and looked beyond the crowd to look into the distance.
"Why didn't you see Hermione?" he said again.
A group of Slytherin students came up from their underground common room along the steps. Walking in the front was Malfoy. He was wearing a black velvet high-necked robe. Harry thought he looked like a parish priest. Pansy Parkinson was wearing a light pink robe full of frills, and she hung Malfoy's arm tightly. Crabbe and Gore were both green, like two big mossy rocks, and Harry was satisfied to see that neither of them could find a partner.
The oak front door was opened, everyone turned their heads and saw Durmstrang’s students and Professor Karkaroff walking in together. Krum walked in front, beside a pretty girl in a blue robe that Harry didn't know. Over their heads, Harry saw that the lawn in front of the castle was turned into a cave, which was shining with faerie lights-which meant that there were hundreds of living fairies, they might be conjured by magic. Among the rose bushes, or flapping wings on the statues, those statues seem to be Santa Claus and his reindeer.
At this time, Professor McGonagall’s voice sounded: "Please come here!"
