Almighty Game Designer Chapter 1101: Alterac Valley

In the original version of Alterac Valley, there was no reinforcement.

In that version, the decision is usually not tactics, but the number of people. Because there is no concept of reinforcements, the entire Okuyama battlefield is likely to fight from day to night, and there is no concept of cross-server battlefield at that time. For those servers with unbalanced camps, there are not enough people to hit the side in the middle of the night, so the winner is divided.

The later version of Alterac Valley carried out a series of reforms, mainly in two aspects:

The first is that the various complex mechanisms inside have been fully weakened, including most neutral NPCs have been removed, the attributes of guards have been weakened, and many powerful summonable NPCs no longer appear.

The second is to add the concept of reinforcements to control the Okuyama battle duration in each round.

On the whole, this kind of change tends to speed up the rhythm of the battlefield. After all, a battlefield cannot be played from day to night. It is hard to say how good this game experience is.

Moreover, the honor rewards of the battlefield mainly come from the key nodes of occupying strongholds and winning victory. The alliance and the tribe are in an infinite stalemate on the battle plain. Neither side can get too many honor points, which is a serious matter for time. waste.

In the initial design, Okuyama's design idea was a large-scale interactive pve game, in which pvp content only occupies a part. Players have to complete various tasks and have a key impact on the battlefield through many key NPCs.

For example, after the player rescues the air force commander, he will turn in various items. After the sufficient quantity is handed in, he will hear the air force roar and fly into the airspace of the opponent to start bombing.

Or the player can capture their own animals and kill the enemy animals (the alliance is sheep, the tribe is wolves) in the animal pen manager, and then they can summon their own cavalry troops to charge.

In addition, you can also summon special forces to support, upgrade army defense, and even summon the ultimate unit to dominate the battlefield.

After turning in enough blood or storm crystals of Alliance soldiers, the druids will come to the battlefield. Players must assist them in the summoning ceremony to summon the forest king Ivers or the ice king Lockhola.

In other words, that version of the Okuyama battlefield is not a simple battle between alliance and tribal players, but requires many means to enhance the combat power of friendly forces in order to win normal wars.

Of course, it sounds good, but in fact, as the version changed, some problems appeared.

Because it takes a lot of time to complete these tasks, taking the mechanism of summoning cavalry as an example, players need to scatter around to catch wolves and kill sheep, collect various items and then run back to hand them in, so there is one Contradiction:

If the NPC's strength is relatively weak, the players on the opposite side will directly gather and pull your guard tower, and then you are still babbling to collect things, and then you will be pierced by a wave; if the NPC strength is very strong, both Collecting resources desperately, the battlefield becomes a battle between NPCs, and the duration of this battlefield is also extended exponentially, which runs counter to the goal of accelerating the pace of the battlefield.

So afterwards, these complex mechanisms have basically become uninterested. Alliances and tribes tend to fast-paced offensive and defensive warfare. Each player is particularly important. Separating people to collect these things is equivalent to Slow down the rhythm.

So, this version of Alterac Valley made by Chen Mo still retains the NPC mechanism, but adds the concept of reinforcements. After all, if a battle is really a night, it is meaningless. For example, the league is clearly at a disadvantage and then defends the bridge. As a result, neither of them can win. It sounds very passionate, but it is not the case.

Chen Mo saw that there were only about 100 reinforcements left in this alliance, and there were more than 400 left in the tribe, which was too miserable.

It's not that the alliance is weak. There are many reasons why the tribes dominated the battlefield in the early stage. Because considering the value of the tribe, most of the players who choose the tribe at the beginning are pure men who like to kill people. The appearance party and the landscape party generally do not choose the tribe. So at the beginning, the cohesion of the tribe was higher.

Of course, the later version of the alliance dominated, so that the island of conquest became the island of the alliance, which is another story.

Obviously, this battle is a battle of disparity in strength between the two sides. The Alliance lost so many towers so ignorantly at the beginning that it can only retreat to the bridge now. The commander obviously didn't understand this battlefield. Fortunately, he was quite conscientious. He kept on screen and hoped that everyone would return to the bridge to defend.

The bridge is easy to defend, because the league’s terrain is loose on the outside and tight on the inside. The defense line of one tower and two towers can be said to be riddled with holes, but the bridge here is definitely easy to defend and difficult to attack. Anyway, all kinds of blizzards, fire and rain, and long-range skills were thrown crazily on the bridge, not to mention tribes, it is difficult for even a fly to fly over.

The two sides were in a stalemate, but although the alliance held the bridge, because of the existence of the reinforcement mechanism, the tribe replaced the alliance with one head with three heads, and the tribe won.

Chen Mo sent a message on the battlefield channel: "Give me the battlefield leader."

He was afraid that the current battlefield leader hadn't seen it, so he brushed it twice.

As a result, the title was changed to him in the next second. Obviously, the previous leader of the battlefield was also eager to come out and take it personally.

Chen Mo quickly divided the current team. The thieves and druids were all thrown into the 7th and 8th teams. The previous teams also basically focused on career matching, ensuring that each team has a remote career and a treatment. Occupation~IndoMTL.com~Everyone obeyed my command. Team 1234 continued to guard the bridge, Team 56 followed me to the bridge and covered Team 78. In Team 78, you sneaked through the tribe’s defenses. Don't fight when you encounter people. You kept sneaking to the middle of the battle plain. Keep sneaking and wait for my next instruction. "

"Still out there, if you are a sneak professional, go directly to the plains, if not, you will die quickly. Hurry up and move."

Chen Mo said as he put the tactics into words on the battlefield channel.

I have to say that the title of battlefield leader still works. Most alliances are already waiting to lose, because they feel that they can't win even if they fight like this, and they can't retreat (there will be a deserter debuff). Now they see such a tough command appearing. Began to move spontaneously.

Although many people are still lazy and don't know what they are doing, at least those alliance players who stood guard by the bridge have all gathered in accordance with Chen Mo's requirements.

Now the tribe has occupied the Thunderpike cemetery opposite the bridge, and the resurrection points of the two sides are very close, and there is also a bridge. Therefore, Chen Mo couldn't take the risk and set out. If the first wave didn't rush down, and the tribe got caught up in a wave, then even if Chen Mo would play again, he wouldn't have enough skills.

Most of the stealth professions of Team 78 are at home, and a few have sneaked out and are scattered around. The others were all behind the bridge, waiting for Chen Mo's order, waiting for the 56 team to rush forward, and they sneaked over while the tribal defense line was being pulled.

Although I don’t know if it will be useful to resist, but now that it’s already the case, let’s try it.
