Hogwarts Outsider Chapter 58: The real principal

Another night of peace.

Matthew and his dormitory friends had some cold quail that Horace Slughorn had sent a house-elf.

Then he fell asleep peacefully to the soft sound of the waves outside the window.

……

The next day was Halloween, and Hogwarts students had a one-day holiday.

Matthew Wakefield went to the auditorium to have some breakfast, and then came to the library habitually.

Due to the early arrival time, there is no one in the library.

He wandered between rows of bookshelves, as if looking for something.

Without much effort, he found a book, a somewhat worn-out book that looked like it had been ripped through.

Just as he picked up the book, a small hand suddenly grabbed his arm.

"Matthew!" A familiar voice sounded in his ear: "I want to talk to you!"

Matthew glanced at her sideways and cleared his throat: "Good morning, Miss Granger!"

"Good morning!" Hermione Granger nodded indifferently, and then suddenly questioned: "I finally caught you once, have you been avoiding me recently?"

"Of course not!" Matthew shook his head without hesitation, with an innocent face: "How is that possible!"

"Then do you have time now to chat with me?" Hermione looked at Matthew solemnly.

"Okay!" Matthew could only shrug his shoulders and nodded.

……

If you want to chat, it must not be in the library.

Otherwise, Mrs. Pince's anger is not something they can bear.

Matthew went to Mrs. Pince first, and went through the book he just found and its borrowing procedures.

And Hermione Granger was waiting for him at the library door.

"Where do we go to talk?" Matthew asked while holding a book in one hand.

"I know a secret location!" Hermione showed a smug look on her face.

"Where is it?" Matthew glanced at her suspiciously.

"Near the potions classroom, a girls' bathroom between the castle and the basement." Hermione replied, "Of course, it's been deserted for a long time. So don't worry, except for a ghost who cries all day , there is nothing there. It is hidden and safe!"

Matthew blinked involuntarily. The girls' bathroom that Hermione mentioned... seems to be where the entrance to the chamber of secrets is located.

He shook his head without hesitation, with a determined expression on his face: "No, it's impossible for me to enter the girls' bathroom, that would violate my principles of life!"

"But..." Hermione hesitated for a moment.

"Just find an unoccupied classroom, if you really have something that you can't let others hear." Matthew said while scanning the passers-by at the door of the library.

"Alright!" Hermione Granger could only choose to submit.

……

They chose the nearest History of Magic classroom.

The classroom was empty and dark.

Matthew opened the curtains of one of the windows, then sat nearby and began flipping through the tattered old book in his hand.

"If you have anything to say, tell me quickly!" At the same time, he said slowly.

"Matthew!" Hermione Granger's voice sounded a little earnest: "Don't you have any sense of crisis regarding the recent frequent attacks?"

"No!" Matthew raised his head and shook his head.

"You really..." Hermione glared at him as if she hated iron for being weak.

She had no choice but to continue: "Four students have been attacked one after another... Except for Malfoy, the lives and deaths of others are still uncertain..."

"Professor Grindelwald has said that the castle is now safe and there will be no more attacks!" Matthew responded calmly.

"Do you really believe what he said?" Hermione's voice was full of doubts.

"Without a doubt!" Matthew spread his hands.

"Are you sure that Principal Grindelwald is at Hogwarts?" Hermione gritted her teeth and said sharply.

Matthew's face became slightly weird.

"It seems that you are also aware of it!" Hermione showed a triumphant expression.

"No." However, Matthew shook his head: "I saw him at the guest table just after breakfast."

Hermione looked around like a thief.

Next, her voice became very small: "But, Professor Rozier is not there, is he?"

"I don't understand what you mean." Matthew looked expressionless.

"Principal Grindelwald and Professor Rozier almost never appear in front of us at the same time!" Hermione insisted.

"I think it's obvious, because Professor Rozier is injured..." Matthew retorted flatly: "And, at the dinner last night, didn't they attend at the same time!"

"Last night was a Halloween dinner!" Hermione Granger's expression looked very serious: "Principal Gellert Grindelwald has never been absent from such a formal banquet in the past... but except Outside of these important time points, he hardly stayed in Hogwarts!"

"Because Professor Grindelwald is busy!"

Matthew replied without hesitation ~IndoMTL.com~ learning and using it flexibly.

"This is not a convincing reason." Hermione seemed a little dismissive:

"I'm sure... Headmaster Gellert Greenwald who appeared at Hogwarts during this time was all pretended by Professor Rozier, by using 'polyjuice potion'... Slug Professor Horn described the effect of that potion in the first class..."

"Of course I know about Polyjuice Potion." Matthew quickly interrupted her: "However, this is a very serious accusation!"

"Wait a minute—"

Hermione opened her heavy schoolbag, and quickly took out a book from it.

After opening the book to one page, she said firmly:

"Also... because Gellert Greenwald was never the real headmaster of Hogwarts!"

This time, Matthew Wakefield was really stunned for a moment.

"This is a more serious accusation!" His voice became a little dignified.

"There is a clear description in "Hogwarts: A School History". Every headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is chosen independently by the castle..." Hermione's speech speed became Soon: "Because the castle of Hogwarts is an extremely powerful magical creation..."

"...Grindelwald is not the headmaster of Hogwarts at all, he is not recognized by Hogwarts castle at all. So when he appears in Hogwarts, the castle will naturally reject him, It will suppress his power, so he can't stay in Hogwarts for too long..."

"So, who is the real principal?" Matthew asked flatly.

"I don't know, but the only thing that is certain is that he is still alive!" Hermione replied firmly.
