Hogwarts Outsider Chapter 71: Christmas

The morning's "farce" allowed Matthew Wakefield to obtain some very important information.

First of all, that book is not as "omnipotent" as he imagined before.

Perhaps Professor Horace Slughorn's previous judgment was correct...it is indeed a "weak" mysterious dark magic item, which attacked the toad at the Leaky Cauldron successively, and After Draco Malfoy, it lost its power.

Or maybe, it has a special "meaning" to it, so it has been unwilling to attack itself.

All in all, Matthew no longer has to worry about losing his life if he is inattentive all day long.

In addition, during the "dialogue" with that book, Matthew also discovered something:

Through various channels in that book, you can learn about some things happening around you.

But certainly not by myself.

Because it doesn't even have access to its own memory——

In order to seduce him, that book proposed three conditions.

Matthew doesn't need to know the root of all the attacks at Hogwarts, he already has a lot of clues.

As for Grindelwald's true face, he scoffed even more, without any interest.

As for learning powerful magic through a book with self-awareness, Matthew believes that any wizard with a normal mind will not believe this.

If that book really understood itself, it would not have put forward these three conditions that were not attractive to Matthew Wakefield.

After locking the book in the drawer, Matthew became relaxed all over.

Facing this "serious confidant" that had besieged him for four months, he finally saw a glimmer of light.

……

At dinner time, when Matthew came to the auditorium, he found that the place had changed a lot.

Twelve sparkling Christmas trees surround the auditorium; countless ribbons are flying in the sky; and enchanted snow, warm and dry, is slowly falling from the ceiling...

What is even more striking is that the last long table was also moved to the corner, and replaced by a huge round table that can accommodate thirty or forty people.

Grindelwald, Rozier, Slughorn, Flitwick, Sinista, and Professor Sprout were all seated at the round table, and of course the administrator, Mr. Pringle.

The rest of the seats on the round table were reserved for the students; the total number of students staying at Hogwarts from all grades was about thirty or so.

The students who arrived at the auditorium first gathered together with some hesitation, looking at everything in front of them in surprise.

"Merry Christmas, children!" Principal Gellert Grindelwald said with a smile, "Vita came up with such a good idea to make our Christmas more atmospheric... Sit down, whatever you like." Sit!"

Everyone stepped forward and sat down in twos and threes.

Matthew sat at the far end from Professor Grindelwald.

Within ten minutes, everyone arrived one after another.

On Matthew's left was the Hufflepuff boy named Justin Finchrey, on his right was Hermione Granger from Gryffindor, and on his right was Harry Evans.

"Let's get some Christmas presents first!" Professor Grindelwald shouted happily.

He waved his hand lightly, and a lot of colorful firecrackers fell from the sky.

One of them fell in front of Matthew, and Matthew pulled it lightly, and then only heard a loud explosion, Matthew and several people around were engulfed in a puff of pale green smoke.

At the same time, a heavy bearskin hat fell into Matthew's hand. Matthew put it on his head, and felt very warm instantly, and at the same time felt that he was a little bit unable to straighten up.

Immediately afterwards, Mr. Pringer also pulled a colorful firecracker, and more than a dozen fleshy bones exploded from it, and Mr. Tang rushed over excitedly.

And Professor Grindelwald is leading a few girls, singing his favorite Christmas carols loudly.

Professor Slughorn downed a large glass of eggnog and belched; Professor Rozier gave him a stern look.

The Christmas feast was more sumptuous than expected.

Twenty fat roast turkeys, piles of roast meat and roast potatoes, lifelike tree trunk cakes, bowls of emerald green peas, large plates of prosciutto and small sausages...

For Matthew, this is the first time he has participated in such a banquet.

After the turkey, comes the flaming Christmas pudding.

As Hermione Granger ate, she suddenly covered her teeth, and then slowly spat out a silver Sickle from her mouth.

"Oh, my God." She exclaimed: "I almost broke my teeth."

Professor Grindelwald took the lead, and everyone looked at Hermione and began to applaud.

The entire auditorium burst into thunderous applause.

"Thank you..." Hermione bowed her head in embarrassment.

Regardless of Muggles or wizards, when making pudding at Christmas, a silver Sickle (Muggles are sixpence silver coins) will be put into the pudding ingredients. Whoever finds sixpence in their piece of pudding cake on Christmas Eve will be counted with wealth and good luck for the coming year.

Professor Slughorn blushed as he drank eggnog glass by glass.

Professor Rozier's pointed black top hat was tilted to one side, showing no manners at all.

Professor Flitwick stood on the stool and sang loudly...

The entire auditorium~IndoMTL.com~ is like a big family at this time, enjoying themselves happily.

……

The dinner party lasted for two hours until everyone was stuffed with all kinds of food.

Professor Grindelwald left half an hour ago, and after he left, some students left scatteredly.

Justin Fenriely also left the round table slowly, holding a lot of baubles that exploded from the colorful firecrackers in his arms.

Matthew also picked up his heavy bearskin hat and followed.

"Finley!" Matthew yelled.

"Hello, Wakefield... I can hardly walk on enough food," Justin Fenriely replied.

During the banquet, the two chatted casually for a while, and they were somewhat familiar with each other.

"Me too." Matthew nodded.

Both the Slytherin and Hufflepuff common rooms were in the basement, and the two had a short walk along the way.

After walking for about half a minute, Matthew asked nonchalantly: "I remember the first day of your Christmas vacation, because of what you were criticized by Professor Sprout and Professor Rozier?"

"Yes." Justin Fenriely said shyly: "I was at the Two Broomsticks bar that day, and accidentally fell asleep, and I was late when I returned to the castle..."

"Then..." Matthew asked lightly: "So that day in Hogsmeade, did you see a witch wearing a thick black scarf..."

"A witch wearing a thick black scarf... a witch wearing a thick black scarf..." Justin Fenriely murmured, his eyes becoming a little blurred.

Suddenly, he covered his head in pain, and the gadgets in his hands were scattered all over the floor:

"Sorry, Wakefield... I... I don't remember anything..."
