Kingdom’s Bloodline Chapter 56: Shift shift
In the empty banquet hall, Thales and Jane are facing away.
The shadows are sparse in the distance, and the guards and servants are still presenting anxious guests to leave, looking at here cautiously but in awe from time to time.
"Now?"
Jen's look of surprise lasted only a second, and his good self-cultivation made him curtail his expression.
The Duke of Iris didn't say a word, and ignored the nervous eyes of a few people in the distance. He just walked slowly, stepped across a mess, and walked towards Thales.
Thyls stared at him coldly.
Until Jen stopped and stood before the dagger.
"So you just ran into a dead mouse, cheating casually and trying your luck?"
Kevin Deere’s master looked at the dagger on the ground, not hurriedly, smiling.
He was at ease, no conspiracy was uncovered, the gaffe and self-consciousness that the scheme was exposed-just like when Thales broke the "Rising Star" plan at the National Conference six years ago.
This makes Thales feel uneasy.
"I got it out of his mouth," Thales didn't change his face:
"This sword was indeed given to him by a customer, not from other unknown channels."
The prince glanced at several exits:
"Unfortunately, the security for the banquet tonight is strict."
"Not many guests can enter the venue without searching personally."
Jen is not hurried, he is pleased to speak:
"Why do you think it is me?"
He seems to be very interested. If someone doesn't know, he probably thought that the two dukes were talking about something funny after dinner.
Not a thrilling political conspiracy.
Thyls frowned slightly.
The young man suddenly discovered that, compared to the young and promising Duke of South Bank who stayed in his impression six years ago, Jane's aura is now reduced a lot and his figure is much stronger.
The other party is different.
Thyls told himself silently.
He is a bit less brisk and bright, and a bit more somber and steady.
There was a thought that flashed through Thales' mind: the experience in the Northland might make him tougher, sharper, and more comfortable.
That six years in the stars.
What did Jane become?
"We are talking about collapse."
Tyles said lightly, maintaining the city and decent of the Duke of Star Lake:
"Before the banquet begins."
Jenn's eyes moved.
"But in the middle of the banquet, you eagerly came up to talk and talked about political gains and losses."
Thyls looked straight into the other's eyes:
"Or be blunt..."
"I have nothing to look for."
Short silence.
Thyls looked at the hall pillars in the distance, watching the shadowy servants come to pick up the banquet mess:
"I know you are well-trained, Jen, and I know you have a thick skin."
"It's not as good as this after all."
Jenn slowly nodded, the corners of his mouth raised, as if he was tasting a glass of wine:
"It can't be that I really want to chat with you..."
Tyles interrupted him coldly:
"You noticed."
Jen's eyes condensed.
"You noticed that the Royal Guard is frequently mobilizing to strengthen protection: You realize that someone unexpectedly discovered the existence of Anke in advance."
The young man looked at the dagger lying alone on the ground, and moved forward:
"You can't sit still."
"You need to hold me back to make sure that the plan goes smoothly and that even after the king leaves, Anke's goal is still there."
"This is your biggest flaw."
Jen didn't speak.
"According to my experience, every time you pretend to be good, bad things come."
Thyls stopped in front of the dagger, looked directly at the Duke of Iris on the opposite side, and called the other's name:
"Jean Kevin Deere."
Old friends.
Thyls said silently.
Jen laughed, his face didn't care.
"Your suspicion is so serious, Your Highness."
"Perhaps when you were still in the north, you were harmed by various people and other calculations?"
Calculate and harm.
Thyls waved away from his mind the image of Nunn and Charman, and even the image of the Black Prophet, and also chuckled:
"And maybe you didn't realize, Jain, tonight, the topic you mentioned when you had nothing to talk to..."
"Kings and vassals? Land and security? Rule and resistance?"
Tales contains irony:
"What you say reflects what you think."
Jenn smiled slightly.
"I think, before today, you probably have been troubled for a long time by the things about Crowsaw Town and Jinghe, the grievances between Bailar and Doyle, and how to use the opportunity to profit from it."
Thyls didn’t look at Jen’s expression. He looked around and looked at the countless tables, chairs, cups and plates that were broken by Anker’s banquet. He sneered:
"And all of these endanger the prestige of the Fuxing Palace, separate the seven servants of the stars, stir up conflicts between the nobles, and expose the contradictions of the rule..."
"Just to trouble me?"
In the far hall, Glover and Piloga, who had sent the last batch of guests away, were about to come in, but they were stopped by Mallos' hand.
The watchman looked at the two facing each other in the hall and shook his head.
The lights are still brightly lit, and the Mindisi Hall is still simple, but compared to the previous gateyard, the banquet hall is quiet and empty.
Only Thales and Jen in the middle of the hall, they stood opposite each other, silently looking at each other.
The only thing that lies between them is the sharp-edged dagger on the ground.
After a long time, Jen walked to the long table aside, picked up the wine glass the butler had left for him, and poured a glass of the famous wine of the Principality of Sera:
"Like most people in the Western Wilderness, Anke Bailar is both realistic and pragmatic. He is not a person who is easily shaken by words."
Thyls frowned as he watched his behavior.
Jen raised his glass and turned back against the long table.
"How are you sure that he will give up giving up?"
He looked at Thales carefully, as if to fit the boy in front of him with the boy six years ago:
"Isn't it possible to throw everything in my anger, to burn the jade and the stone, and to splash the blood on the spot?"
Anke Bailar.
Tyles turned his head, and the shadows flashed across his face.
"Same method as you did." He said in a low voice.
Jen shook the glass in his hand and smelled the wine:
"Oh? What?"
Thyls looked at the wine glass in his hand, only to feel thirsty.
"Before he became a chess piece, he was a human."
"He is a person, a very complicated and simple person."
The Duke of Xinghu came to another long table, swept away the obstruction, and picked up a wine glass.
Regardless of who had drunk it before, he swiped it directly behind him to spill the remaining liquid.
The drink fell to the ground, and a few drops sprinkled on Jen's boots, making the owner of the iris frown, who was tasting the aroma of fruit wine.
Tyles picked up a pot of water, leaned on the long table, and turned around.
"No matter what a person instigates, where he is affected, or is held in by what happens, all his thoughts and actions, in the final analysis, originate from himself."
Jen left where he was calmly:
"Did you know him before?"
"No," Thales filled his glass, "but the information says that Anke has a younger brother and three younger sisters, all of whom are young and live in Crow Crow Town."
Tyles' eyes freeze on the wine glass in his hand.
"I was thinking at the time, if he avenged his father and died, what would they do?"
Jen looked at him, his lips curled up.
Boom.
Thyls put down the kettle again.
"Single-handedly, rushing to the palace to confess feelings, cutting enemies, and hating for the father."
"This matter sounds very proud, and I am very happy."
Tyles said solemnly, looking at his reflection in the glass:
"But in reality, nothing can be solved like this: the royal family will not tolerate assassinations, and his behavior will only be regarded as a crime of contempt of order, as a bad example of destabilizing, severely punished, in order to emulate. "
"As Bailar's family, they are already in desperation, they will only usher in disaster."
Jane smiled more and more subtle.
And Thales' eyes gradually freeze into ice:
"But when I thought, when he was about to fight Doyle, I understood."
"Anke didn't want to kill people, or even justice, maybe revenge is just the beginning."
Thyls looked up sharply.
"Father’s huge debt, vassal’s betrayal, Doyle’s conspiracy... Under these three weights, he, who has little experience and can do nothing, just wants to fight for the last protection for his family: win the public His sympathy forced the royal family to come forward to ensure that his family will survive the disaster safely, without bankruptcy and loss of land, family destruction and death."
Jane still tasted the aroma of the wine calmly and contentedly, but did not drink it.
The prince's tone became tense:
"He took the risk seriously, not for revenge, or even for justice, just to fight for the future."
"In order to avoid future troubles, complete this goal perfectly..."
Tyles clenched his teeth.
"He must die." Jann raised his head and took the words coldly.
Thyls was in a daze, and suddenly remembered D.D's expression to him decisively and the duel at the end.
The voice of the Duke of Iris floats in the hall, ethereal but mysterious:
"He can only use justified revenge and justice as an excuse to bear it, and use his death to take away all the accusations and disgust."
"It's better to die openly, admirably, dramatic and legendary."
"Like a hero."
"Become a perfect victim who is free from criticism and perfection, leaving nostalgia and sympathy behind you."
Jen observes Thales’ expression and plays with the taste:
"Only in this way can the mean, vicious, selfish and hypocritical onlookers relax their hearts and release their poor empathy."
"Only the royal family and the kingdom have to be under pressure. After this sad story, they have no choice but to help and take care of his troubled family, so as not to fall apart."
The clear water in Thales' glass tumbled slightly.
Like the sea where the wind and waves are coming.
"Anke Bailar."
Thyls has no expression on his face:
"He is not a selfish hero in the legendary stories that everyone likes. He commits suicide in one's anger and weeping despite the loneliness behind him."
"It's not a scum hero who can't think about it for a while, for the sake of **** thoughts, he is hot-headed, and the jade is burnt."
Jen looked at him silently, the wine glass in his hand calm.
The prince slowly raised his head, his eyes were dead:
"He is just a rundown squire in a remote place, with family, younger siblings."
"Be responsible and bear the humiliation in a difficult life."
"A person who is struggling to support his family under the mighty power, seeking a chance for the family around him..."
Thyls's breathing becomes fast:
"Ordinary people."
So, Anke will give in.
Thyls thought bitterly.
He must back down.
Because he is not alone.
Live more than just for yourself.
Thinking of this, Thales couldn't help the indignation in his heart and raised his voice:
"And you, Kevin Deere, you took advantage of this, of his humanity, of what he was born to be, the most fundamental and most caring thing."
"Turn him into your chess piece."
The words of Thales are cold:
"Come and deal with me."
Zhan En looked at him quietly, and only smiled a long time ago.
It's like spring wind and rain.
"Aren't you?"
Thyls shivered slightly.
Jen shook the glass gently and watched the liquid in the glass rotate orderly and smoothly in one direction:
"Didn't you also take advantage of this, seemingly ‘persuade’ him, but actually persecute him?"
Jen's smile turned gloomy.
Tyles' wine glass trembled.
"Not long ago, when Bailar came to me," Jen said casually:
"What I saw was a poor man who was scarred and desperate. He wanted to ask for help from the famous and approachable Iris family."
Duke Iris' eyes flashed brightly:
"He needs hope."
"So I gave him hope."
Jenn paused and raised his eyebrows:
"Maybe, there is also relief from heavy pressure."
"I told him that he can only rely on one person to reverse the fate of his family."
"A "new man" who returns with a god-given halo, is completely different from the king on the seat and the monarchs in the court."
Tyles clenched his teeth, staring at the water in his cup, tumbling back and forth.
Jen left the long table and walked forward, approaching Thales, his tone unavoidably triumphant:
"Until you end the duel."
"Until you use power to cut off this hope: whether the duel is won or lost, life or death, whether he kills the prince or never reverses the case, his family will be forever lost."
Tyles shuddered and closed his eyes.
The owner of Kevin Deere gave a cold snort:
"You use his humanity to force him to give up duel, and even force him to survive, stingy, even the mercy of death will not give him."
"Just more cruel than me."
Thyls was speechless.
The Duke of the South Bank took a leisurely step, stepping over the dagger on the ground.
"Do you know what kind of future he will face after he walks out alive tonight?"
Tyles' breathing has stalled.
Kevin Deere came to Thales with a mysterious smile and shook his glass:
"Now, who is the ruthless person, Your Royal Highness?"
Thyls was silent for a long, long time.
He just looked at his wine glass.
Looking at the surface of the water in the cup, from tumbling to tumbling, and then returning to silence again.
Just as Jen smiled away and was about to turn around.
"Are you not going to drink it?"
Jen frowned.
I saw Thales raising his head with a calm expression, looking at the wine glass in the other's hand.
Perhaps a little stunned, but the Duke of South Bank looked at the wine in his hand and still responded happily:
"In terms of aroma, it is worse than imported from Emerald City," Jen shook his head, shaking his glass with regret: "But if you want to drink..."
"No, not my favorite flavor."
Thyls said nothing, just hummed.
But the next moment, he suddenly raised his wine glass and poured the water into his mouth.
Drink it all.
The Duke of Xinghu finished drinking the water and relieved his dry tongue. He didn't avoid bad appearance and manners. He wiped off the water stains on his lips and shook it.
The drop of water splashed, making Jen stand back silently.
But Thales stood up and left the long table!
"Why?"
Tyles strode forward and asked coldly:
"Just because I didn't agree to your terms? I was embarrassed and fell in love with you?"
Jane stood still, but he frowned and realized that Thales was going all the way, pushing towards him.
"Or did you make up your mind and you want to tear your face with me and never die?"
Thyls pushed all the way to Jayne, until they were no more than a foot apart, leaving the dagger on the ground again.
The two eyes met, if there was a spark.
Jen stared at Thales, his leisurely expression slowly disappearing.
"This is a warning."
Thyls hummed:
"Warning?"
Jen cocked his mouth and called his name:
"At the banquet, I came to you on purpose."
"Thyls."
"To be honest, I am not afraid that you will find out that it is me, no, it is better to say that I want to be discovered by you,"
Thyls frowned.
"It's not just about creating opportunities for Baylar," Jann sneered:
"Tyles, this is the last chance for you."
Jen lowered his glass and approached the depressed Thales indifferently:
"Bailar's behavior is spontaneous. All I do is show a clear path, push lightly, and move on to the next move."
"But just like this, you can't stand it anymore and you're in a panic."
He was close to Thales’ ears, whispering like a lover, but his tone was cold:
"Can you imagine the scene when the chess game becomes serious?"
Thyls did not answer, just squeezed his glass.
"I want you to know, Thales, I want to teach you to know: this is my response."
The Duke of South Bank said harshly:
"As a response to you offending me, rejecting me, or threatening me in six years."
Thyls was stiff.
The other person's breath left Thales' auricle.
The person in front of him has changed back to the kind and amiable, young Iris Duke who makes people feel like spring breeze.
But only a few seconds later, Thales took a deep breath.
He chuckled slightly.
"Me? Reject you?"
Tyles' expression changed. He looked at Jayne from head to toe.
Make the latter unhappy for a while.
Until the prince is frivolous and ironic:
"Sorry, I don't know you like men yet."
"Dear Jayne."
At that moment, Jayne's eyes were cold.
But Thales didn’t care. He even raised his left hand, lightly put on Jen’s right shoulder, close to the other’s ear, and shook his head:
"Otherwise, maybe when I just rejected you, I could be a little gentler and gentleman?"
Jen stopped smiling.
He didn't move, nor looked at the hand on his shoulder, but stared at Thales coldly.
"If you choose war, Thales, be determined to be my enemy."
"Then this move is just the beginning."
Jane looked at Thales as if looking at a corpse:
"The prince of stars? The Duke of Xinghu? The blessing of royal power? Good reputation? The allegiance of the courtiers? The resume of the Northland? The high position?"
He asked coldly, his tone never fluctuating.
The next moment, Jen suddenly raised his left hand and pressed Thales's left hand!
"I can destroy them," every word of Duke Iris contains viciousness:
"One by one."
Feeling the opponent's wrists tightening, Thales pursed his lips.
"Here, on a chessboard that I am familiar with, I can make you unhappy."
At that moment, Jayne's eyes were so sharp that it could cut through flesh and blood and pierced his heart:
"When it comes to tearing my skin, even if I sacrifice everything, I can make you, and I will definitely make you pay the most tragic price."
The Duke of South Bank snorted and removed Thales' palm.
But to his surprise, instead of letting go, the silent prince swiftly grabbed back and grabbed Jane's wrist!
Jenn's eyes narrowed.
But it was not the act itself that made him dissatisfied or even hated.
"Is it because of that conversation?"
Thyls' words sounded softly.
"Six years ago, when I was leaving Yongxing City to go north, our parting conversation."
Six years ago.
Leaving Yongxing City...
Talk.
One second, two seconds.
Jane's eyes were confused at first, then fell into the deep cold, fainted with anger.
"Because I asked your family, your family?"
Thyls' words sounded faintly, like poison flowing into a blood vessel, flowing into Jen's ear:
"The secret of misfortune with them?"
Any expression disappeared from Jayne's face in an instant.
At that moment, the crime of Hell River in Thales broke out with an unreasonable agitation!
Almost made him gaffe.
At that moment, Thales knew that he was on the right track.
This is it.
Tyles firmly restrained the impulse of the power of ending, looked at the Duke of South Bank again, and bit out the words from his teeth:
"Look?"
"To some extent, you and Anke are not very different."
There was a reversal force from Thales's hand trying to break free, but he still grabbed Jen's wrist firmly, never let go-at least he couldn't let the elegant and decent opponent break free gracefully.
"And you ask, who is the ruthless person?"
Tyles stared at Jen, staring at him blankly, like a **** face:
"It depends on you."
"Jean Kevin Deere."
Silence.
The silent silence radiated from the seemingly innocent eyes of the two.
In the lobby, the atmosphere between the two finally dropped to a freezing point.
On the periphery, the royal guards waiting for the dukes to negotiate seemed to feel something, but they wanted to step forward, but they were all stopped by Mallos.
Finally, Jen turned his head, avoiding Thales’s sight, and stopped trying to break away from the prince.
But he laughed.
"Do you know."
"From'Black Eyed' John, to'Southerner' Hyman,'King of Ascendant' Elan,'Oathkeeper' Midil,'Northern Conqueror' Ellija..." Jann changed again It has to be leisurely and easy to do, but the cold light in his eyes tells the truth:
"In history, many star kings taught Exeter a lesson."
"And you know, what did I learn about how to deal with the Northlanders?"
Thyls frowned.
Jen stopped pushing Thales out, but pulled him closer and whispered indifferently:
"Before they want to **** you..."
"Fuck them to death."
Thyls looked cold.
"Don't follow me."
But Jen smiled slightly.
"Do you think that if you have survived the natural king, you are qualified to be complacent and do your own way?"
"Polaris? Ha ha ha ha..."
The owner of the iris said softly:
"Trust me, if you want to emulate the gameplay of Nunn VII in the Star Kingdom, you will only die faster and more miserable, more inexplicable."
Thyls felt a chill in his heart.
Jane like this is often more disturbing than the sullen Duke of South Bank.
The next moment, Thales flicked his wrist and was shook off by Jane!
"Take care of your hands, Your Highness."
The Duke of Iris smiles endlessly, like spring is full, and the grass is lush:
"As I said, times have changed."
"Not better than before."
Thyls was silent.
His threat...
It didn't work.
Or...
Too effective?
Jane took a step back and swept his shoulders carelessly, as if it was stained:
"You don't want to be **** by me, your lord."
"Before you meet the real enemy."
Tyles' complexion changed.
He slowly raised his head.
"The enemy I can see, so far, you are the only one."
Jane laughed blankly as if he heard some joke.
"How to choose friends and foes is a matter of knowledge, Your Highness."
"The Star Kingdom is prosperous and peaceful, and the prospects are great," his smile remained, but his words became more subtle: "All I can see are friends."
"The enemy is what you can't see."
Jane took the wine glass in his hand, the liquid in the glass was still there, and its color was as new.
"Ning to die because of a friend, not an enemy."
He smiled softly, then released his finger.
Tyles' pupils constricted.
Slap!
The wine glass fell to pieces, smashed and splashed.
Each piece of fragments ignited the lights in the hall, reflecting a different kind of light and shadow.
Jenn didn't miss anymore, turned around and left.
"That is my property."
Tyles was behind him, looking at the debris on the ground, and said coldly.
"Yes," Jann didn't look back:
"So you feel heartache."
Thyls frowned.
"Aren't you afraid?"
Looking at the other party going further and further, Thales couldn't help but raise his voice:
"In Yongxing City, openly provoke the authority of the royal family, separate Canstar from his vassals, destroy the relationship between Fuxing Palace and the Western Wilderness, and endanger the heirs of the kingdom."
"Or, you are still dying of the Canstar royal family, your idea of being crowned by the superior?"
Thyls stared at the opponent's back, lowering his voice:
"My father will not be happy."
Jen sneered.
"If something like this has happened, you may be busy tomorrow."
He still did not look back, leaving only his back to Thales, and replied loudly:
"But if you have time, you might as well visit Bailar in prison."
Thyls was startled.
"Trust me, Your Majesty will be very happy."
Jen's voice is getting farther and farther, echoing:
"Unhappy, maybe you are the only one."
Thyls's heart moved:
"Why?"
"Because I said, this is just a warning."
Jen's steps are as elegant as ever, and his posture is calm and noble:
"So I left you some windfall."
Thyls was puzzled.
"Be smarter, your lord, be safer."
The voice of the Duke of South Bank gradually faded away:
"I said, the next time I will declare war."
What?
Declare war?
Thyls looked at each other in disbelief, unhappy, angry, and disgusted, all gathered together.
What the **** is this damned, superior person doing?
Next time?
Does he still think that Thales offended him tonight?
Thyls was frightened and angry, not knowing whether to be angry or to laugh at.
Jane's figure goes away, leaves the hall, and joins his housekeeper.
"It's over?"
Malles' steps came from behind.
Thyls sighed.
No.
Just the beginning.
Thinking of the hardships I experienced today and the things I will face tomorrow...
This is only the first day, the first banquet.
Forcing himself to pretend all night, Thales let out a sigh of relief, and sat down on the chair tiredly, feeling uneasy:
"I still don't understand why he hates me so much."
Thyls snorted coldly and looked at the broken glass **** on the ground. He became more unhappy, and wanted to smash the empty cup in his hand to vent his anger.
But with his arms stretched out halfway, the Duke of Xinghu, who has a large family and rich wealth, took a few deep breaths, and sensibly... put the cup back on the table.
"It's as if I harmed his family." Thales was unhappy.
Malios came behind him and nodded silently:
"Then have you harmed you?"
The prince turned around~IndoMTL.com~ gave him a blank look.
"I told Doyle to change shifts ahead of time. He has to go back and settle his family." Mallos is obviously already used to the death penalty with the Duke's eyes, and reports indifferently:
"Of course, tomorrow..."
Tomorrow.
Oh, no.
Thyls covered his face and let out a painful moan, interrupting the captain of the guard.
"By the way, Mallos."
The watchman is listening.
"Your temporary sniper team," Thales raised his head feebly:
"They haven't changed shifts yet?"
Malos glanced at the periphery:
"No. Why?"
Since there is no shift...
Tyles gave a cold snort and glanced in the direction where the Duke of South Bank was leaving.
His face is dark, and his words are cold:
"Then if I order them to follow and sneak secretly and kill Jayne Kevin Deere..."
"No." Mallos answered quickly.
Thyls frowned:
"Why?"
"Because," Mallos turned his head, the clouds were calm and clear, without shame:
"They changed shifts."
