Restricted Doomsday Syndrome Chapter 19: Secret door

Fu Jiang and I walked out of the granary, trying to find the other side of the wall, but found that it didn't exist at all. The long corridor stretched to the depths of darkness, and then there was not even a doorway for more than ten meters. That side wall is not a partition wall in another room, but a part of the concrete stone wall. This did not match what Fu Jiang had observed in the granary. She was sure that there was an open space behind the flat gap.

"Maybe it's empty inside." Back to about the distance of the wall, I kicked the corridor stone wall full of silt and scratches with my foot.

Tomie also hit with an axe, but the echo that came back was not wrong.

"It may be too thick," she said.

This underground building is large and complex. We have been in for a while, neither finding the monster’s lair nor finding any other exits. It was nothing. I propose to focus on our purpose, ignore these minutiae, and continue down to see what else is there. Fu Jiang insisted on digging out the secrets of this granary. It was like a Sudoku game, and it would take several hours to get caught. This is not the first time I have seen Fu Jiang's unexpectedly stubborn side.

Well, she is always right when she is stubborn, just like facing a horn monster. I use this reason to convince myself.

So we returned to the granary and continued to look for clues that might have been overlooked by ourselves.

I studied the footprints of insects in the corner of the wall. In such a dark and humid place, they are well-deserved ground snakes. Even the gaps that rats cannot pass through are like open doors to them. If there is a hole behind the wall, maybe ants and the like will crawl in from there.

Tomie continued to study the gaps in the lamp holders. After a while, she told me that except for the wall on the side of the gate and the wall facing the gate, there were similar gaps in the lamp holders on both sides of the wall. But even if I shined it in with a flashlight, I couldn't see what was on the other side.

I walked around the corner, but found something interesting. The thickness of the dust and the traces on the edge of the wall revealed many secrets.

Such signs have been mentioned in many books. The light from the flashlight shined on the wall, and I checked the wall carefully in the halo. As expected, I found something unique. After removing the stains, several places on the wall were smoother than others, and those stains looked like some kind of imprints.

   I call to Fu Jiang.

"Look, people often press this place."

Tomie sticks his palms to fit the size.

Why do those people keep their hands here over the years? There are several explanations, but combined with the traces of the corner, I believe in one of the judgments.

Tomie seems to have thought of it too.

   "Is this a secret door?"

Now, Fu Jiang and I are both interested. The mechanism on the wall is either pushing or pulling, but pushing here should be more appropriate. I put my hands on those fingerprints and pushed inward. Exhausted all his energy, but the wall didn't move at all. When Fu Jiang saw this, he also came to help. The two of them worked hard together, and the wall showed signs of loosening. As a result, the wall made a dull sound and slowly moved back until it could no longer move.

There is no special change in the room. Fu Jiang and I immediately thought of the other side of the wall, so we drew a scoop based on the gourd and pushed it in forcefully.

When the living wall reached the end, the vibration ran through the entire room, and dust and dirt fell on top of the head. If we didn’t have helmets and protective clothing, we might have escaped, but now it’s for us who are fully armed There is no impact.

While Fu Jiang and I were appreciating the changes in the room, the wall facing the door of the room suddenly opened an entrance.

As if countless poisonous snakes would swarm out in the next moment, Fu Jiang and I carefully took out the weapons, but the hostile life did not appear, instead a pool of water poured out from the secret door. The water is turbid and dirty, because there are many inexplicable things in it, and the mixed smell can be smelled even when wearing a mask.

Fujiang and I did not back away, and the water surface soon covered the foot surface, but the protective clothing had several layers of plastic film that could not penetrate in, but the shoes became heavy after absorbing water. The immediate encounter makes people feel fortunate that they were prepared.

Tomie reached out and picked up a floating object in the water. I shone the flashlight and turned my sight away. It was an intestine, which was swollen in the water. I don’t know whether it’s human or animal. . Fu Jiang threw it back into the water in disgust.

No one mentioned entering the secret door first.

"I remember there are many dead animals here." I said.

   "Is there any problem?"

"Those ghosts ate all the corpses on the ground before."

If this is their hiding place, why not eat all the corpses here?

"Maybe they are picky eaters." Tomoe said jokingly.

"Maybe." I said, "I have a crow in my house."

   Tomie looked at me unclearly.

"The crow is a scavenger. But after I raised it for a while, I fed it fresh meat every day, and now it doesn’t eat any carrion."

   "That means..."

"If picky eaters are not by nature, they are trained."

"Do you mean they were kept in captivity?"

"Who knows. I'll just talk about it casually."

Tomie turned his eyes back to the secret door.

"Do you want to go in?"

"Go in, it's all opened anyway." I summoned up the courage to say.

Fujie will only behave incisively and vividly, leading the way to the secret door by dripping water. I followed one step closer to the side and behind, placing my index finger on the trigger of the crossbow, ready to buckle at any time.

The corridor behind the secret door extends horizontally and is five meters wide. The stone walls are covered with water stains. From time to time, drops of water drip from the top of the head, hitting the poncho and stagnant water, making a dull hollow sound. According to the calculation of the depth of the stagnant water, before the secret door was opened, the stagnant water did not fill the entire corridor, leaving obvious traces on the rock wall about one meter high.

The road slopes down for a certain distance. As it goes deeper, the stagnant water gradually rises to the knees, and when walking, it kicks the unidentified floating objects in the water, which makes my heart feel hairy.

After the first corner, I arrived at the living wall of the granary. The distance we traveled reached more than six meters, and the distance to push the living wall was only one meter. I don't know if the empty space behind the living wall has been filled up after moving. Fu Jiang raised the flashlight aperture to the height of the live wall lamp holder, and we stopped here.

Tomie stared there, I knew what she was looking for. I focused on her surroundings, guarding against any sudden danger.

"I have a question." Tomie suddenly said, "Those monsters that eat corpses appear at night and leave before dawn. Is it because of phobia? It's dark here, but there are no signs of their activity."

"Maybe they are full and sleeping." I replied.

"I'm serious." Tomie said dissatisfiedly: "If they were going out from the entrance where we came in, there should be some traces along the way."

"Me too." I said, "It's too complicated here, maybe they are taking another route, and the traces are not obvious. Knowing that the first monster I encountered can be invisible, they said There are also weird instincts that are uncertain. Secondly, I don’t think they are phobias."

  "How do you say?"

"As you said, there is insufficient evidence for photophobia. So what I consider is the biological clock."

"Biological clocks...they are only active during that time? Well, they are more appropriate."

When spoke, Tomi Jiang still stared at the wall like a statue.

"Maybe found." She turned her head and said to me: "Be a Remy Martin again?"

I shine a flashlight towards the wall. Maybe my eyes were not as good as hers, and I didn't see anything.

I bent down and Tomoe stepped onto my shoulder~IndoMTL.com~The wet water on her feet dripped down her shoulders. Although she had protective clothing, it still made people feel sick. Moreover, even if some of the weapons are put down, the fully armed body is still very heavy.

"What did you find?" I asked back.

"There are some traces, like something crawling over, they may be hidden in those gaps." Fu Jiang said, putting his eyes in front of the gap.

"You can't see it from there, and you can't see it here." I said.

"But I know there are still spaces inside."

Tomie inserted the wooden stick that had previously lifted the white silk, and stirred it for a while. When it was taken out, it was not only wrapped with more white silk, but also a spindle-shaped thing hanging from it.

"It looks like a worm pupae." She said, putting the worm pupae into the prepared plastic bag.

Suddenly, Fu Jiang's movements stopped. I wanted to say something, but she gave me a silent listening gesture.

I don’t know why, but I still try to listen. Sure enough, in addition to the sound of water, there was a faint noise in the silence.

Tomie keenly judged the sound's direction.

   "It's ahead."

I know she was referring to this secret passage.

"Is it... a human?" Her tone was uncertain.

Through the thick swimming goggles, she still seems to be able to feel her surprise. Not only that, but I also felt that my heart suddenly picked up. There are other people in this place? They certainly didn't come in from the entrance when we came.

has a complicated feeling. It's like encountering strangers in the desert. They may have water, they may bring danger, or they may be in trouble. Which kind are they? do not know.

   "Go and see." I said.

Fujiang had no objection, and jumped off my shoulder, and the sound of hitting the water made an uproar in the corridor.
